Michelle Chong was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She lives and works in Los Angeles. She received an MFA from Otis College of Art and Design and an MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles. Chong has exhibited in regionally including the MexiCali Biennial 2009/10, the Torrance Art Museum, and Shangrila, Joshua Tree, and internationally including Berlin, Copenhagen, and London. Chong is a grant recipient of The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs Artist-in-Residence, and Creative Capacity Fund’s NextGen Arts Program. She is the Director of Short House, a curatorial project, and has curated shows in Baltimore, Berlin, Copenhagen, Joshua Tree, London, and Los Angeles. She has served as Board Member for the Society for the Activation of Social Space through Art and Sound (SASSAS), Los Angeles; Board Member, Foundation for Art Resources (FAR), Los Angeles; and Member of Kolonie Wedding, Berlin.
